Typewriter Chat: a vintage typewriter with a paper sheet, controls and a correspondence panel

the story

Typewriter Chat turns messaging into typing on a vintage machine. As you type, the carriage and paper drift left; when the bell rings you drag the carriage back to return it.

Switch the ink ribbon, roll a fresh sheet, keep a snapshot, or send the sheet down the line to another user by username.

what went into it

    Carriage drift, the end-of-line bell and a carriage you drag back by hand.

  2. 02Sheets, not messages

    Write a whole sheet, then send it to someone by username — or press Ctrl + Enter.

  3. 03Ink & snapshots

    Swap ink ribbons and keep snapshots of sheets you like.

  4. 04Presence & invites

    See who is connected and copy an invite link to bring a friend in.

Slower than texting, on purpose — every sheet feels like a letter.
